Yesterday, Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, unveiled a full multimodal portfolio from the Microsoft AI Superintelligence Team: MAI-Thinking-1 (reasoning), MAI-Code-1-Flash (coding), MAI-Image-2.5 + Flash (image generation), MAI-Transcribe-1.5 (speech-to-text), and MAI-Voice-2 + Flash (voice synthesis) — integrated across Microsoft Foundry, GitHub Copilot, and M365.

The flagship reasoning model, MAI-Thinking-1, was trained from scratch on enterprise-grade, commercially licensed data, with zero distillation from third-party models. The tech press is focused on benchmarks. I’m focused on something else.
